Father, I pray today for our teachers--homeschool, private, public, and college teachers. First, I pray that they would know your immense love for them. Let them know they are loved by the Father. Allow them to experience your nearness in the midst of staff training, room and lesson prep, personal expectations, and the expectations of their administrators.
I pray that they would find time daily to sit at your feet and to experience the loving instruction of Rabbi Jesus. Use the Word they have read, meditated upon, memorized to continually intersect with their fears and insecurities and feelings of inadequacy. May their vocation of teaching flow out of their ever growing fellowship, love and trust in Rabbi Jesus.
Allow the fear of the Lord to increase in their own hearts as they seek to not just dispense information but to instruct with wisdom. I ask that they be given favor with students, parents, and administrators. When they encounter challenging circumstances, give them confident grace to speak the Truth in love.
I ask that you give our teachers opportunities to share the good news of your love and salvation with their students and with parents and with other teachers. Some of our teachers work in environments where this is encouraged. Some of our teachers must be more creative. Whatever the circumstances, I pray that they would be given eyes to see the opportunities that you have planned.
Father, thank you for all those who sacrifice their time and energy to instruct students. Bless them today. Bless them as they start a new school year.
In the name of Rabbi Jesus, Amen.
